During our boiling, broiling, blistering summer of 2012 here in the Missouri Ozarks, water was a topic of conversation wherever we went. Creeks and ponds dried up (some never recovered) and the water table dropped, forcing a few neighbors to have their well pumps lowered or to even have deeper wells drilled.

There are few things in survival that are more important than water. The body can survive without food for a few days, but it cannot go for more than a few hours without hydration. The availability of water can make or break you, as this is something that will determine how you operate and just how long you can last. Of course, in the wilderness, water is more available if you know where to look. But evacuation may not be an option, which means that you have to hunker down near a water source. In many instances our water supply may be cut off. In order to survive we need water. Without water we will not survive. Besides sleep, it is most essential to survival. Almost any area as a source of water. One of the best ideas is to store water. Water from the tap can be stored or you can buy it at a near by Wal Mart or other store. Once opened do not try to reseal for use later.
